Every Clan needs some form of hierarchical structure to amplify its functionality. The following positions will be made available and all positions will be filled by a vote of the Clan Leader and Executive Council Members.
The hierarchical structure shall consist of a Clan Leader and a number of Executive Council and Council Members. All Council Members will have an equal voice in decisions, with the Clan Leader and/or Executive Council being the final decision makers. As a whole, it is the responsibility of the Council Members to keep the Clan focused and to mediate disputes, handle problems/concerns, and help organize events. This is in addition to their ability to recruit eligible members. The process by which someone may seek to join the Clan is outlined in our membership policy.
Clan Leader - The Clan Leader will have executive power over all Clan issues. The Clan Leader reserves the right to dismiss any member or Officer for any reason at any time but will do so with a written explanation and his/her discretion must be exercised in good faith with solely the best interests of the Clan in mind. The Clan Leader has the right to identify any Officer as Assistant Clan Leader to stand in the place of the Clan Leader when he/she is not available.
Executive Council - Executive Council members shall be chosen from the Council by the Clan Leader. Executive Council members shall have broad discretion to enforce the Clan Constitution, speak on behalf of the Clan, and will be considered the ranking officer(s) at any event.
Council - Made up of the Clan Leader, Executive Council, all Officers and each Game Team Captain. Council members shall initially be appointed by the Clan Leader and subsequent vacancies filled by a vote of the Council.
Responsibilities of the Council shall include:
- Guiding the direction of the Clan in order to help it grow and prosper.
- Discussion and review of Clan policies.
- Deciding punishment for violations based upon the Council's investigations.
- Rendering of final decisions on recruit applications.
- Establishing and maintaining diplomatic ties with other Clans/Guilds.
- Resolving issues that any member feels they cannot resolve within their group.
- Being the primary point of contact for Clan members. This means keeping the group informed of new Clan issues as well as keeping the Council informed of issues that Clan members might have.
- Being part of the organizing force for Clan event preparation.
- Being the investigating force in the event of an accusation of any member. They will then follow up with the Executive Council, concerning the investigation, giving them facts and suggested course of action.
- Keeping up to date with the current Clan information and issues via e-mail, the Clan Website, and any other forms of communication available.
- The Executive Council shall have the power to authorize the addition of new Game Teams.
- The Executive Council shall have the power to authorize the dissolving of existing Game Teams.
- The Council shall have the power to ratify a Game Team Captain’s request to expel a Member from the Game Team.
- The Council shall have the power to impeach a Game Team Captain, when such action has been requested by a simple majority of the members of a Game Team. This requires a 2/3 vote of the members of the Council. An impeached Game Team Captain is also automatically removed from Clan Membership.
- The Council shall have the power to expel teams that to are not representing the Clan appropriately. This requires a unanimous vote of the members of the Council (not to include the offending Team’s Leader). All Members on an expelled Team are automatically removed from Clan membership.
- The Council shall have the power to determine the minimum standards and codes of conducts for Clan members.
- The Council shall oversee the election of a Game Team Captain, when such a position becomes available.
- The Council shall have the power to request contributions from Members to pay debts that affect the entire Clan.
- The Council shall have the power to implement dues or fees to pay debts that affect the entire Clan. This requires a 2/3 vote of the members of the Council.
Council Members shall, through a vote, appoint current and active Clan members to positions of responsibility, such as: Event Leader, Relations Officer, Recruitment Officer, Clan Points Officer, and Game Team Captains. Each member appointed to an officer position shall not maintain any dual officer roles.
Any Officer may be removed by the Clan Leader or through an Executive Council majority vote for violation of this Constitution. If at any time a situation arises that requires an officer to have their status questioned, it will be brought to the attention of the Executive Council who will then review the situation and then vote on whether to keep the officer or remove him/her. All grievances about a member or Officer will be submitted, in confidence, to the Clan Relations Officer for consideration and action in accordance with this Constitution. All complaints regarding Constitution violations must be submitted in writing.
Any officer has the choice to step down or retire. If an officer retires from the game, or their playtime becomes sporadic, they will be given the title “Officer Emeritus”. An officer with this title will have access to the officer boards and chat, but no voting rights. If an officer steps down by their own choice and goes back to regular membership, they will lose access to the officer board as well as chats.

Event Leader – Responsible for planning and approving events, organizing and leading evnets. Event Leader has the sole and complete authority in the field during any event, including delegation of event assignments. He/she will be responsible for organizing group composition, coordination of roles and invitation of non-Game Team members if the situation requires it. The Event Leader will coordinate with Event Council Members to develop and distribute, in advance of any event, techniques that will be employed and all other pertinent information. The Event Leader will have the authority to assign penalties for not following instructions; ask a member to leave a event due to conduct issues which are interfering with the success of the event; or immediate Clan removal of a member under the most extreme situations where time is of the essence and full debate is not in the Clan's best interest. In a multi-Clan event, the Event Leader will be the designated person to coordinate with the additional Clan(s).
Relations Officer – Responsible for all intra and inter-Clan related issues, which include the handling of complaints as well as enforcement of our current rules. Responsible for watching trends of behavior and/or abuses and keeping the Executive Council informed of them. This officer along with the Recruitment officer are responsible for mediating and deciding all conduct related issues, assigning penalties if needed and will report directly to the Clan Leader and Executive Council on these matters.
Recruitment Officer - Responsible for maintaining and posting applications from new recruits received on our website. As well as keeping an active watch over all Game Teams to ensure that the Clan is balanced. The Recruitment Officer shall also have the discretion to immediately make a person a clan member, if in the opinion of the Clan Leader or an Executive Council member agree and extraordinary circumstances warrant such action. This Officer along with the Relations Officer are responsible for mediating and deciding all conduct related issues, assigning penalties if needed and will report directly to the Clan Leader and Executive Council on these matters. The Recruitment Officer is responsible for maintaining an accurate list of all Clan members.
Communications Officer - The Communications Officer will be responsible for welcoming new Clan pledges and getting them established on all forms of Clan communications (e.g. - Message Boards, TeamSpeak).
Clan Points Officer - Responsible for the daily entry of event logs and maintenance of our points database. The Clan Points Officer is the final arbiter of any point dispute, and can assign point penalties for event related issues, along with more severe penalties such as removal from an event for persistent violation of policies/procedures on events.
Game Team Captain(s) – Responsible for seeking out players of skill and maturity to join the Clan in their gaming area. The Game Team Captain will be responsible for scheduling game team practices and training exercises. The Game Team Captain shall be the primary point of contact for all of his/her respective game team Clan members. The Game Team Captain is responsible for all functions of his/her team including, but not limited to, the following:
- Shall make sure all his/her Game Team members have a message board account and a TeamSpeak account.
- Shall keep all upcoming events posted in the Clan message boards and calendar.
- Shall keep all completed events logs posted in the Clan message boards, posting win/loss news.
- Shall work with the Event Leader to make sure the Event Center is updated after an event.
- Shall ensure that all Game Team members are informed and kept up to date with Clan events.
- Shall ensure that all Game Team members meet the Clan membership standards.
- Shall ensure that Game Team members conduct themselves within the Clan membership Code of Conduct.
- Shall help the Communications Officer maintain an up-to-date Roster for his/her team.
- Shall ensure his/her Team is compliant with the rules of any League they are currently playing in.
The Clan Leader or a vote of the Executive Council may create additional Officers and roles at any time.
